Last month I was lucky enough to tag along on the set of the Lonny video shoot with Chance designer Julia Leach. Though her impeccably cool downtown apartment has graced the pages of Lonny in the past, I still was totally inspired by her infamous mood board, which is brimming with the ephemera, tear sheets, and vintage photographs that inspire her effortlessly chic collections.
Fast-forward to a quiet Sunday afternoon in Greenwich Village when I found myself in a well-stocked art supply store comparing the many different sizes and shapes of foam board to house my own curated bits and pieces of inspiration. No glue, no hammer, no time commitment required: this is by far the simplest (and most satisfying) DIY project ever. The second my life-size pin board made it home, I propped it up against a blank corner, grabbed my stack of flagged magazines, and started pinning...old school style.
