A Budget-Friendly #DIY Framing Idea You Can Use Now

It's official: I've been bitten by the summer travel bug. While I'm not busy perusing travel sites for a roundtrip steal, I'm mentally packing imaginary suitcases full of gauzy and bright caftans fit for a tropical beach...But I digress. To achieve instant travel gratification (until I'm sipping that mai tai under a cabana) I'm taking my daydreams to the walls of my apartment.

Whether you're anxious to jet off to a bucket-list worthy romanticized locale, looking forward to a low-key staycation in your city, or simply pining for a trip back home, why not put your destination of choice in a frame? Turning your ideal geographical pinpoint into a piece of art instantly gives a space that collected, well-traveled, and nostalgic feel most of us crave.

Luckily this D.I.Y. project doesn't require a workshop of tools and materials. A frame, a map, a hammer and nail is all you need. Looking for the perfect map? Etsy has plenty of vintage ones to chose from, off all sizes and from all parallels of the Earth. Don't know where to find the right frame? Try checking out the always classic Pottery Barn for timeless styles, or Target for a great selection of larger sizes. Still unsure what place you would possibly want to memorialize on your walls? Pick up a globe and start spinning...
