When the going gets tough, the tough get a
drink. Or something like that. At our
relaunch party last week—where temperatures peaked at a scorching 96 degrees—we did what any rational hostess would do when faced with an
indoor/outdoor location and too little air conditioning to go around: doubled down on stiff beverages. Thankfully, the good people at
Lillet and
Hendrick's Gin, who helped sponsor the event, delivered. Here, one of the satisfying summer cocktails that got us through the evening—and is sure to keep cropping up throughout the season. (Note: special thanks to
Sugar Paper, who made the eye-catching coasters that people couldn't stop
'gramming.)
The Lonny GingerServes 1-- ¾ ounce Hendrick’s Gin
-- 1½ ounces Lillet Rosé
-- 3 ounces ginger beer
-- 1 cucumber round
-- 2 raspberries
Combine gin and Lillet in a cocktail shaker filled with ice; shake vigorously. Pour into a Collins glass filled with ice. Top with ginger beer, garnish with raspberries and the cucumber wheel, and enjoy!
