Zimmermann Has Us Dreaming of Summer
The Australian swim and ready-to-wear label casts a retro poolscape as the backdrop for their latest lookbook
In case we needed more evidence that they simply do it better Down Under (chic-er, healthier, cooler), behold Australia-based swimwear and clothing label Zimmermann's Summer 2015 look book, set against the candy-perfect backdrop of a Sydney public pool. With its rainbow array of pastel-painted facades and retro municipal spaces, the angles and color blocked hues are as graphic and interesting as the clothes themselves.
Nicky Zimmermann’s sophisticatedly hippyish silhouettes sing in photographer Simon Lekias's sun-drenched images of glowing model Ophelie Guillermand. “We wanted the campaign to invoke the nostalgic backdrop of hot Australian summers by the local pool, but with a sophisticated and modern direction,” says the designer.
If our town pool—or poolside attire—looked anything like this, we'd be happy to spend our days hoofing it on the concrete.
