Simone Rocha vs. Lorenzo Martone
In my humble opinion, it's when fashion month moves to London that things get really good. From Burberry to Paul Smith and my forever favorite Erdem, Brit Week is full of consistently droolworthy shows. Since the young Simone Rocha came on the scene in 2012, her collection has been amongst the most anticipated—and for good reason. The Fall 2014 looks were inspired by the ballsy beauty of Anne Boleyn, and a particularly forceful dress was wrought in cherry red tulle and wool. The regimented cage motif reminded me instantly of Lorenzo Martone's highly stylized Gramercy bike, with its boxy lines and bold curves.
