"It was my version of the white-picket-fence dream," says luxury brand consultant Alice Ryan of her 1901 white clapboard farmhouse in Southold, New York. Set on almost four acres, with a barn and formally landscaped gardens, the house became an ideal escape for her, husband Kirk Miller, and their three children.
