How to Instantly Declutter Your Bathroom Counter

One of the hazards of working at Lonny is the near-obsessive compulsion to art-direct every surface in sight. That extends, of course, to our bathroom counters—a space that truly lives up to the less-is-more school of thought. Here's our secret: Assemble a great-looking lineup of essential beauty products, and display them like art objets on a tray. Let's break it down.

1. The Tray
When it comes to decorative accessories for the bath, Lucite always fits the bill—its minimalist, airy aesthetic is right at home in a room devoted to the task of keeping clean. We're fans of the magnetic-backed versions at Tara Wilson Designs, which do double duty as easy, attractive photo displays. This 5x7 photo tray allows you to easily swap out photos or patterns (such as this lovely rice paper from Pearl River Mart) to suit your decor.

2. The Daily Essentials
Admittedly, we'd buy the entire Beautycounter collection for the gorgeous packaging alone. Luckily, however, the Southern California–based skincare and bodycare line seriously delivers the goods. The year-old company's mission is to make high-performing products with the safest and best ingredients possible, which involves rigorous scrutiny and testing (never on animals).

The list of ingredients that Beautycounter has sworn never to use makes for a fascinating and enlightening read; what's more, the product experience itself is a joy. We'd unhesitatingly recommend every item in the line, but if we had to narrow it down to our top three favorites, it would be the body lotion, the conditioner, and the rosemary and citrus body oil. Bonus points in our world for living up to the Lonny bathroom-counter challenge.
