See It Now: A Photography Project To Curb Your Appetite

Meals Interrupted |
Photographer Davide Luciano and food stylist Claudia Ficca are a husband-and-wife team with a tongue-in-cheek new photography project under their belts. You might think of it—officially titled Meals Interrupted—as Gatherings Gone Wild: it's comprised of a series of still lifes that depict a shared meal disturbed by an unexpected (and decidedly unwelcome) event, from a torrential downpour to a mob hit. Elaborately styled and meticulously captured, the images are completely engrossing—and, in some cases, flat-out gross.

Luciano's photography has been published in Vanity Fair Italia and The Independent; Ficca has styled for the likes of Cherry Bombe magazine and Food & Wine. The Montréal natives previously collaborated on a photo project that explored the surrealist possibilities of potholes in New York City—an equally compelling series that, like this one, would become an artful conversational piece in any home.
