I'm always looking for tasteful ways to add pops of color to my apartment. It's actually quite a challenge, I think, to bring color into a room in the same way a cook adds spices—so that they lend flavor, without overwhelming or distracting.
-->And I recently discovered something that's been around for a while, but is my new favorite home accessory, largely because of the glorious colors in which it's offered. It's called the Camelia Avenue Posy Vase from kate spade, and it costs only $25! So it would also make a great hostess gift. These little vases (they're 3½ inches tall) are perfect for a desk or a bookshelf. I bought three, all in pink, because I thought they'd be terrific to place along the length of a dining table on a bright white cloth.
And really, the colors are so bright and lovely—the pinks are sooo pink, the reds are so red, etc. I keep thinking how happy I'll be in February, when New York is drained of color, to come home to pretty white flowers arranged in three shocking pink vases.
