Spring has finally arrived! In my Brooklyn neighborhood, we’ve seen a few days warm enough to make the dogwood, cherry blossom, and magnolias trees bloom galore. I officially declare it time for picnics in the park! And to kick things off, I need a new picnic basket.
(Oregon myrtlewood and copper picnic basket: $295)Should I go classic with this leather-handled, woven wood basket? It’s sure to be sturdy, and the copper detail is quite nice.
(Wood Grain Metal Picnic Basket: $32)Or perhaps a less expensive, but just as chic, wood grain–styled vintage tin carryall? Spending my extra dough on a bottle of champagne never hurt.

(Springtime picnic basket and table by Bloon Design)Then again, I could go all-out and don my bicycle with designer Jeriël Bobbe’s ubercool picnic basket–turned-table. It is springtime, after all…

What’s your favorite basket? Or better yet, what’s your favorite item to pack?
