According to Tom Wolfe’s
The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, “you’re either on the bus or you’re off the bus.” In his pioneering work of New Journalism, Wolfe followed Ken Kesey’s crew on a 1964 cross-country bus trip fueled primarily by LSD. When it comes to the recent spate of psychedelic decor, we’re definitely on the bus. With Day-Glo accents and surreal elements, groovy doesn’t seem antithetical to good design after all.
