When IKEA launches a new limited-edition collection, we are always scouting out for the next iconic item that's going to instantly sell out. Well Tom Dixon's new collab with the home giant brought us just that. Meet the DELAKTIG, a convertible form that can easily transform thanks to a modular structure. From optional side tables to a variety of headboard styles, you can really give the bed its own personality.
“I’m fascinated by the bed as a kind of primary unit that everybody needs," shares Tom Dixon. "It’s essential; we spend more time in contact with our beds than with any other piece of furniture. So why not make it do more?”
While we are all about that base, our favorite part of the collection is the rattan headboard designed to pair with it. The basic woven wood shape is a simple piece, but it can instantly warm up your space and add that necessary element to elevate your bedroom. While designed to fit in with the DELAKTIG, we have a feeling that frequent IKEA-goers will be racing to add this headboard to a variety of bed designs.
The collection doesn't launch its bed options until February, so we recommend staying on your toes to scope out the rattan addition before it sells out.
