Scout Out: Two New Shops on Worth Avenue

Worth AvenuePalm Beach's answer to Rodeo Drive and Fifth Avenueis a shopper's paradise. From a Chanel outpost and a Saks satellite to one-off art galleries and jewelry boutiques, the stunning street draws locals and visitors alike with its gorgeous array and natural beauty (think pristine palms, cascading bougainvillea, and twinkling views of the Atlantic). The first shops opened in the 1920s, and some might say little has changed since then. I was in the area this past weekend and stopped into two new stores that are endeavoring to breathe new life into the stately stretch.

Store: 55 Croisette
Address: 415 Hibiscus Street, Palm Beach, Florida

Located one step off Worth Avenue on verdant Hibiscus Street, this year-old clothing boutique is the
first US effort from Corinne and Stéphane Sportouch, whose original 55 Croisette store is in Cannes. Impossible-to-find-stateside French collections such as Courrèges and Irfe hang next to pieces from Stella McCartney and Balmain, and Crayola-bright accessories from Versace and L'Wren Scott top whitewashed tables. The airy space oozes South of France sophistication with modern white leather seating, a zebra-hide rug, and graphic artwork specially commissioned for the store featuring bombshells Brigitte Bardot and Kate Moss.

Sienna Charles

Location: 323 Worth Avenue, Palm Beach, Florida

Opened just weeks ago, this mini boutique is located down one of the many charming covered walkways
that meander off Worth Avenue. Husband-and-wife team Freddy Reinert and Jaclyn India started their travel agency after spending a year globe-trotting and staying at every luxury hotel where they could score a reservation. They recently opened a shop to share the wares they'd found along the way, and, although the pickings are currently slim, they are decidedly chic. Sleek totes from Danish bag maker Mismo are propped next to richly pigmented, handmade travel books by Fiona Caulfield, while high-tech (and super pretty) Molami headphones share shelf space with spa-sourced skin-care products.
