If you have ever lived in NYC, you must know the pain of schlepping to IKEA. With the only local location in Brooklyn, it's a huge ordeal (but usually very necessary) to make a trip to the store when moving into a new place. Well New Yorkers can finally celebrate that its getting an IKEA of their own on the Upper East Side. All you need is to take a stop off the 6 train and you can go door to door with your new home buys. You can even easily order home delivery if you don't think your new sofa will fit through the subway doors.

Not only is this new IKEA a bit more petite (because all real estate in NYC is small), but it's actually designed to be a Planning Studio rather than a regular store. While it's not warehouse-sized, the spot will be filled with plenty of the brand's favorites, particularly those that work best in small spaces. You can even book an appointment in advance with a team member who can help you curate custom storage and kitchen solutions.
