While it's already hard to crack the puzzle of styling a small space, it's also pretty tricky when you and your S.O. have two polar opposite styles. Throw in a one-year-old and you're going to need a room that can also make some space for playtime. Lonny Managing Editor Angela Tafoya had to take on the task when decorating her living room in her San Francisco home. Tafoya is a fan of colorful global decor, while her husband artist Eric Bailey leans towards neutrals. Their adorable daughter Tallie's jam? Design within reach (aka furniture items that she can grab onto).

With a little help from Pottery Barn's small space collection, the creative duo were able to transform their space with neutral, natural pieces that fit Bailey's minimalist aesthetic, while also providing lots of areas to display Tafoya's fave décor accents and colorful coffee table books.

Watch the couple's design process in the video below.

While this entryway focuses on organization, layered rugs add a fun pop of color.

The corner of the room possesses an industrial modern edge, while bohemian décor and art brightens the space.

What a perfectly pint-sized space!
