A note to anyone who is tidying up their home office: Don't forget your knot of cables.

"Spring cleaning is a great occasion to move any heavy furniture and do a deep clean behind it,” says Karla Reyes Ruiz, director of housekeeping at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley. “But, before moving your furniture back to its place, take a couple of minutes to tackle what I call ‘cord management’. Wipe down all your cables, organize them, unplug and store any extras that you don’t need, and use Velcro ties or clips to nicely tuck [them] away. It makes all the difference.”
