Spring Cleaning Task #3: Clear Your Drains
Even though they’ve got soap and water running through them everyday, the pipes beneath your kitchen sink can use a deeper clean every now and then. But you’ll want to avoid clearing your drains with harsh cleaners like bleach or ammonia, which can erode the plumbing over time.

Instead, try a solution of 1/2 cup baking soda and one cup of white vinegar. Pour each down the drain separately and then follow with hot (but not boiling) water to rinse. The same technique works for your garbage disposal, too.
