Instagram Show House Tour: Maison de Luxe
See how 23 top designers made over one 87-year-old mansion, and documented the whole thing on Instagram.
What happens when you put twenty-three of the country's most talented interior designers under one roof? No, this isn't a new season of The Real World, but rather the beginnings of the chicest onslaught of design L.A. has seen in quite some time: the Maison de Luxe Show House. Hosted by Luxe Magazine at the famous Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills, each designer was assigned to reimagine one of the estate's fifty-five rooms and morph it into a personal masterpiece. The rules? No nailing, screwing, stapling or painting of the wood surfaces, moldings, paneling, or doors. Oh, and they had just two weeks to install everything. The designers took to Instagram, as one does, to show off the sometimes harrowing process, the fascinating installations, and the dreamy final products. Check out some of our favorite snaps.
girl's bedroom
Design duo Julie Massucco Kleiner and Melissa Warner took on a spacious bedroom, covering the walls in a dark blush wallpaper by de Gournay and punctuating the space with a gold four-poster bed.
THE GRAND HALL
Just off the formal entrance of the mansion, Los Angeles-based designer Mark D. Sikes transformed the passageway into what he nicknamed "The Garden Hall" for its green-and-white lattice-like Schumacher wallpaper, wicker furniture, chinoiserie garden stools, and potted plants.

Amy Meier hung botanical art above a sleek, gray fireplace, where a figure statue, curved stool, and splatter-patterned rug surround the minimalist hearth.
The salon
Recent Instagram Stories subject Andrew Brown showed off his impeccable taste in a fresh-faced parlor. A classic Greek key motif lines the edges of the natural sisal carpet beneath an arrangement of neoclassical and modern art. On the walls, Brown tapped fellow Birmingham designer William McLure to sketch a pair of figure drawings directly onto the walls.
The study
Kristen Buckingham paired her room's existing dark wood paneling with feminine and floral wallpaper. The seating area is made up of a variety of textiles and patterns, from blue-and-white striped ottomans to crisp white sofas to a tiger-print accent pillow.
the master suite
Designer Nina Campbell is the mastermind behind this sunny, corner bedroom. Shades of gray-blue and cheery pinks mingle together throughout, from a velvety chaise lounge to a skirted table holding a miniature pagoda.
the reception hall
Oliver Furth let his selection of contemporary furnishings do the talking in his room, calling on a geometric gold mirror, black console table, and egg-shaped sculpture to punctuate the light-filled space.
