The Most Popular Christmas Decor From The Year You Were Born

5. 1954
When the hear the word "nutcracker," there's a good chance one of two things come to mind: Tchaikovsky's joyful ballet and the wooden toy soldier that took center stage. The iconic show might've debuted in 1892, but nutcracker decor was surprisingly popular in the '50s.

While it's hard to pinpoint why this trend was so big 60 years later, some people attribute its rise in popularity to the New York City Ballet's performance in 1954. Either way, we still give this Christmas decor item a standing ovation.
