In the '60s, traditional pines felt so yesterday. Instead, many people opted for an aluminum Christmas tree. Honestly, it's not hard to see why this trend was so popular. An aluminum Christmas trees was shiny, new, reusable and a breath of fresh air from the standard Douglas fir. (In fact, this trend was a huge plot line in the 1965 television program, A Charlie Brown Christmas.)

Of course, you can still keep these metal trees in your home. We like them done on a much smaller scale to decorate a mantel or little nooks and crannies around the house.
