Minneapolis Sues Nicole Curtis
Nicole Curtis has had plenty of personal drama, but in 2018 she found herself in a design-related kerfuffle when the city of Minneapolis thought she was taking too long on a renovation project.
According to the Star Tribune, "Curtis bought the property from the city for $2 in 2013 under contract to 'substantially complete construction' within a year of the sale. In January 2017, the city sued Curtis’ company, Detroit Renovations, asking for the property back and alleging that she failed to redevelop it. In April 2017, the parties settled and Curtis agreed to complete the renovation by October 15 or forfeit it. The city extended the deadline."
