11. Chip Gaines Gets Sued By Former Partners
In 2017, former Magnolia Real Estate Company partners slapped their one-time friend and colleague, Chip Gaines, with a $1 million lawsuit. John Lewis and Richard Clark claimed that Gaines had bought the pair out of the real-estate company without telling them about the HGTV deal to start filming Fixer Upper.

People reported that Gaines allegedly bought out each partner for $2,500 on May 6, 2013 — just two days before announcing the show.

Luckily for Chip, the lawsuit was thrown out in February 2020, according to the Waco Tribune-Herald.
