In 2016, Meridith Baer, the host of the HGTV show Staged To Perfection, faced a hefty lawsuit from someone who appeared on her show. The participant alleged that Baer made a mess of his Manhattan townhouse. According to the Daily News, "Meridith Baer Home sent 'defective' furniture and refused to refund his initial payment of $45,000 after he cancelled the order in mid-July. He want[ed] $120,000 in compensatory damages and $1.3 million in punitive damages."
