The Biggest HGTV Scandals Of All Time

'Fixer Upper' Also Gets Outed For Being Fake
The first family of HGTV, Chip and Joanna Gaines, had an uber-successful run with their show Fixer Upper. But, there were a few bumps in the road throughout the five-year run. For example, in 2016, one participant claimed that the show's premise is all a big façade.
On Fixer Upper, the Gaines pair shows off three old houses for prospective homeowner to choose from. Then, they use their expertise in design and carpentry to fix up the house. But, this particular homeowner said that he was required to already own the house that appeared on the show.
The application process confirmed that this was, in fact, the case. After the House Hunters scandal, viewers were a bit miffed.
