The new Nancy Meyers flick doesn't disappoint in the interior design department
Look at any calendar in Lonny HQ and you'll find Friday, September 25th circled, highlighted, outlined, and otherwise bolded for all to see. Why? That's the date Nancy Meyers's new film The Intern hits theaters, and it's maybe the only event since the promise of Chris Pratt's unbuttoned henley in Jurassic World that we've deemed worthy of a ticket purchase.
Anyone who's seen It's Complicated, Something's Gotta Give, The Holiday, and The Parent Trap knows that the writer-director's films are like interior design candy, filled with creamy hues, rustic farmhouse tables, and rooms we'd kill to live in. The Intern—starring Anne Hathaway and Robert DeNiro as the titular character—is no different.
To achieve the picture-perfect look of a thirtysomething website entrepreneur's Brooklyn brownstone—plus her stylish loft office—Meyers enlisted friend and One Kings Lane founder Susan Feldman to consult on the atmosphere and culture of a creative startup (something Feldman naturally knows all about). What's more, many of the items that appear in the film have made it over to the OKL site so you can shop the look—and own a piece of movie history. Still up for grabs: a Grossman Grasshopper Lamp, a sweet pair of lucite chairs, and a perfectly worn farmhouse table. But hurry—the sale ends on October 5.
