Far & Wide Collective, an e-tailer of artisanal wares that launched earlier this spring, is my new answer for livening dreary tabletops. The Fair Trade shop boasts a range of jewelry, patterned scarves, handbags, and home goods from craftsmen around the world, but it is the painterly ceramics that will have me coming back for more.
These one-of-a-kind dipping bowls are made by Abbar and Alisher Rakhimov, a father-son duo in Uzbekistan. When not being used for olive oil or a mise-en-place, I'd hang them on a wall, proudly on display.
At just $19 a pop, these vessels– which feature floral and animal motifs reinterpreted from traditional Uzbek craftwork– would make a lovely housewarming gift for your comrades who treasure the unique and the handmade.
