Forget for a moment that it's nearly the beginning of October and jewel tones are in the air. Samuel Amoia's three-month-old line of pastel-hued furnishings are enough to make you pine for spring. The Lonny-approved designer first caught our attention last year as one half of AMMA Studios, a Brooklyn-based firm that rocked the design world with a psychedelic collection that blended such unexpected ingredients as coffee and rock salt with resin and cement to create decor pieces of uncommon beauty.

Now, his new Itz'ana Home collection is poised to overtake our Pinterest boards with alarming speed. The product of an unlikely collaboration between Amoia and the developers behind Belize's Itz'ana Resort & Residences, the carved-wood pieces feature patterns and motifs inspired by the local artisanal traditions of Central America. “I saw craftsmen creating beautifully intricate, detailed work,” says Amoia. “In their carpentry and their textiles, you could see the distinct touch of their hand, and that unique, handcrafted style is what helped to inspire Itz’ana Home.”

Designed in Amoia’s Brooklyn studio, the pieces will be manufactured in Central America with traditional vendors and made with locally sourced materials. The collection, which comprises side tables, lighting, and decorative folding screens, will range in price from $750 to $3,500, and is available for purchase by special order.
