Statement Walls
"Our clients really wanted to make a statement, and originally suggested the idea of having a statement art piece above the stairwell,” recalls Baker. “When we studied the space, we realized wrapping the stairwell and kitchen walls with a wall covering would have a better impact as people walked through the front door.”
“Because this wall frames the garden, we wanted something that felt organic to help bring the outdoors in. We ended up with a Phillip Jeffries grasscloth paper called Beyond, which feels like an oasis, and a continuation of the garden. It is also what formed the overall feel and pallet for the house.”
