Colorful Minimalism
"You do not see anything that lacks a purpose in a traditional Japanese home," Beryl explains. "This means that there is no extra clutter or space for displaying extra or unnecessary items. We followed this design principal by keeping everything extremely clean and functional both from an accessory and furniture standpoint."

That said, the homeowners also wanted to infuse some color and playfulness into the space. "The wife is European, and I think her background especially influenced the classic Scandinavian furniture pieces that the couple gravitated towards," she shares.
