Laying Low
Minimal, low-profile furniture pieces are a signature of Japanese interior design, Beryl notes. It isn't uncommon to see floor mats and pillows used in place of chairs and beds. "We emulated this concept in our design by using sparse furniture pieces that sit low to the ground such as the simple living room furniture and the low, streamlined master bed."
