"We had to have them," explains the designer, of the addition to the family's dining room. "The gorgeous french doors were pricey and it was a big job — to actually blow out that exterior wall — but it made every space in the house feel larger. In the summer, those doors are wide open and now the square footage in the house feels increased. In the winter, the light coming in from them is a welcome warmth."
