Emily Newman launched Once Wed in March 2008 as a free online listing service for wedding dresses. Since then, the site has grown into a premiere wedding planning destination that celebrates unconventional weddings, bouts of inspiration, used wedding dresses and more. Look out for Newman's posts all month long on the Lonny blog!
(Photo Ali Harper)We loved these great luminaria that Kelly Wilkinson shared on A Practical Wedding so much that we wanted to share them with you here, too! They are so budget friendly and easy to do, and create such a nice ambiance….that’s a win in our books!
(Photo Ali Harper)Kelly lays out a more detailed tutorial and if you feel like you need extra instruction I definitely recommend it. Basically, you iron some foliage or petals (or whatever else is flat) between wax paper, cut them into equal panels (we just traced a template) and tape the panels together using washi or scotch tape.
We then hot glued some little balsa wood sticks for added support, but you don’t have to. The balsa wood sticks are super cheap and available at most craft stores, though you could also use little twigs though if you want them to look more rustic!
