"Minneapolis museums and theaters are an obvious must," advises Duininck to any visitors of the city. "They are informed and intelligent with a shot of humor. The Walker is everyone's go-to."

"There are a handful of shops that have elevated the Twin Cities in the past decade and I give them credit for opening my eyes to higher design and the slow and small-batch resurgence," she adds. "Black Blue was influential for me. Steve Kang showed me what a retail experience could be in my perfect world."

"The Foundry and Shop Mille are forward thinking without alienating the demographic. I always feel they push their shopper to be more discerning," says Duininck. "Idun is breathtaking and Arlee Park is fresh, real, and doesn't ever come across as 'trying.'"
