“We use shades of light blue, gray, and ivory in our bedroom designs to promote serenity,” says Gabriele. The French doors, which lead from the master bedroom to the living room, were originally paneled in glass, but Gabriele replaced the panes with antique mirrors for privacy. The light fixture is from Circa Lighting. The master bath was a selling point for the homeowner. “It’s so rare for a New York City bathroom to have a freestanding tub in front of a window,” says Gabriele. “It was an amazing piece to work with.” The designers hung soft, gauzy roman shades for privacy and elegance. 166 Lonny march • april 2011 2011 march • april Lonny 167
